About

Thirteen years of hands-on engineering. No script-readers.

Lucid PC is an independent engineering practice based on Staten Island, working across New York and remotely beyond it. We learn how a business actually runs, then build and operate the technology it depends on.

The practice

We learn the business before we touch the technology.

Most of what we get called about isn’t really a technology problem. It’s a process that grew sideways, a vendor nobody manages, or a system three people are quietly working around because it was easier than asking.

If anything, the work has taught us to slow down at the start. We measure before changing anything: the first pass is read-only, with every firewall interface and subnet written down and a host inventory built from what the network already reports about itself.

That is the whole method. Understand it first, and the technology usually gets simpler and cheaper. Skip that step and you end up buying a platform to paper over something that needed ten minutes of thought.

No call centres. No script-readers. No “have you tried turning it off and on again.”

Why work with us

What you actually get.

Here is the honest case for an independent practice over a managed-services company.

You always talk to whoever built it

No tier-one queue, no handoff, no explaining your setup again to someone new. The person who scoped the work is the person who does it and the person who answers when it breaks.

Nothing disappears between vendors

From the Google listing to the firewall in the server room, it stays under one roof. Nobody gets passed between three vendors who each blame the other two.

The limits are stated honestly

We take on what we can operate properly. If something genuinely needs a different specialist, we will tell you that instead of billing you to find out slowly.

How onboarding works

Written down, not remembered.

A practice like this lives or dies on what happens when the person who did the work is not in the room. So none of it lives in anyone’s head. Here is what becoming a client actually involves.

You fill in one form, once

Two minutes, on your phone if that is easier. It asks only for the things we genuinely cannot find out by looking at your systems — who to call, who may approve a restart during the working day, and the hours we must never interrupt you. We do not ask you to list your computers. Finding those is our job.

Your answers become rules, not notes

What you tell us goes straight into the system that runs the work. The hours you give us are the hours nothing disruptive is allowed to run in — enforced by the software rather than remembered by us. Nothing is retyped from a notepad, and nothing is lost because we were on another job that week.

You are told what changed

Every fix and every finding is written down as it happens, with what was done and why. You get it in plain language, and anything that affects you directly you hear about at the time — not buried in a summary weeks later.

Who we work with

Small and mid-sized businesses that genuinely depend on their systems — where an hour of downtime is an actual problem, not an inconvenience.

Where we work

On site across New York City — Staten Island first, then Brooklyn, Queens, the Bronx and Manhattan. Remote support and infrastructure work anywhere, since most of it never required standing in the room.
